| On Dec 30, professional teacher organization KFTA held the founding ceremony of Curricula Research Association to communicate with education reality more closely, to lead practical school-based improvement in teaching and learning and to create self-regulated research environment based on the association.
The final 129 members of the association were selected late last year through public contest of history/social science/English teachers during Sep and Oct. All members are elementary or middle school teachers selected based on their individual research plans.
Each research group will develop and distribute class models, create teaching/learning materials, conduct research to improve school education methods and provide consultation to improve school lessons. When main issues arise regarding their subjects they will also develop realistic approach under close cooperation with KFTA. Meanwhile, KFTA will provide them administrative and financial supports including research funds, seminar venue and publication of research outcomes. Researchers will participate in discussions, public hearings, advisory council meetings on KFTA's recommendation.
They can also participate in KFTA research convention as a leader, planner or judge.
