On November 22nd, The KFTA held the 85th board of representatives at the KFTA auditorium on November 22nd to adopt a resolution of 6 items censuring the education programs of the current government administration, to approve programs, budgets, and to elect the KFTA executive members for 2007.
The board of representatives said, “ROH Moo-Hyun administration changed Education Ministers 6 times and that it shows a lack of education philosophy and failure in education policy”
To improve the educational environment, the board required ▲increasing educational finances, ▲ stopping an ill-planned legislation of the teacher evaluation system, ▲decreasing the number of students per teacher and per class, legislating weekly class hours, decreasing the paper work of teachers, ▲ immediately introducing a senior teacher system, ▲ stopping reforms on civil servant pension law ▲canceling the education autonomy law.
The board of representatives also approved a 500 won (about 50 cents) monthly membership dues increase (excluding a 200 won raise of local membership dues). Due to the expiration and resignation of predecessors, the board elected 4 directors and 1 auditor.
