The KFTA (Korean Federation of Teachers’ Associations) will hold a National Educators’ Rally at Jamsil Student Gymnasium in Seoul on November 10th (Sat.) for ‘Realizing an Educationally Powerful Country and Electing an Education President’. This rally is to draw public attention to educational policy, to increase the solidarity of teachers, and to implement core educational policies in readiness for the December presidential election.
The 2007 National Educators’ Rally special as this year is the 60th anniversary of the KFTA’s foundation and the presidential candidates for the December national election will announce their educational policies at the rally. The rally includes a teachers’ performance, 60th anniversary commemorative video, addresses, educational pledges from candidates for the presidential election, and the adoption of new resolutions. On November 10th, over 10,000 people including representatives from each school branch, executive board members, secretary-generals of each province, directors of local teachers’ associations, chairpersons of affiliated organizations, candidates for presidential elections, educational committee members of the National Assembly, education committee members of local congress, and superintendents will participate.
